Another Company here in Germany has an invention that is now 15 years old. It's an Oil-Filtering system that means you can drive ca. 150,000 Kilometers WITHOUT an oil change !
They have installed this system into thousands of cars - on the wishes of the customer - and it definitely works, absolutely no question

mobil 1. would go 30,000 miles without oil change. never advertised to the ability to do that because of possible law suits if engines failed.. etc. liability of course

now i believe they have extended new formular oils that will go 70,000 miles without oil change.
one problem was filters.. they would fall apart so you should change your filter and put the oil back into your system it suspends the dirt in the oil.. you see the problem is not the oil but the dirt you breath into your engine. if you drive around road construction , dusty areas this all relates to life of lubrication.

yes , there are better oil filter systems out there. mobil puts out and extended oil filter made by some mfg to their specs.

Now i drive a bmw 540 1997, do you think i am going to run the car on extended oil filter. Why would i? It is very inexpensive to replace a filter and oil change once a year regardless of condition of oil to keep engine clean. Remember you are driving with dirt in the oil and filter. and you have a twenty thousand dollar engine it is supposed to protect. why not spend $80. a year to at least think you are doing something to preserve the engine. then again if you trade cars frequently then why change your oil at all . just run it and trade it.

politicians is another story. lifers i call them. why are we not drilling off the coast of south carolina where known natural gas deposits are located. or off florida, or off ca.?

why no refineries built in united states for thirty years. oil companies had nothing to do with refinery shortage!
