If you are going to allow further tading during the contest, there really is no point to an entrance date cut-off time. Participants are allowed to hold cash, so anyone interested in joining can use their seed cash ($100) to make stock purchases up to the date of conclusion for the contest. In one respect, they will be handicapped by shorter duration of trading time. In another respect, they might avoid a market correction. It really won't effect the contest much. If cash is going to beat the stock pickers contest, it really doesn't matter how many people wish to claim the booby prize.
