And how many more people will have to die waiting for that? Evil destroys itself. That is the conclusion that I have come to based on my own observations. I am pretty sure I originally heard that from somewhere else. I am pretty sure I am not the only one that believes that. But, let me make the case for it: Let's start with stuff close to us. If you have ever seen really, really bad kids. Kids that really do bad stuff. Notice some of them seem to get away with stuff, but inevitably they get into trouble and end up badly. Okay, that is an easy one. But what about the smart little evil one's. They seem to be able to fool people. They seem to get away with stuff. Maybe you have a sibling that way. Or, you may have seen it with husbands and wives that cheat on each other. Some of them seem to get away with it. But if you look deeply into this, you can see that they inevitably do not get away with stuff. Sometimes it is just me accusing some one of bad deeds and it is not true. Or, in many cases some people are not always bad and sometimes they do good stuff. But, it seems to me stuff balances out. If you do a lot more bad stuff than good stuff, things seem to catch up. Anyhow, that is just my observations. Now as for Hitler and stuff. That is another ball game. Hitler had a good run. But you will notice it didn't last for long. He wanted his government to last for a thousand years. It lasted only a few years. His craziness and his evil caused his country to collapse after a few years. There was no way he could have kept up his evil for very long with the whole thing imploding. At least that is my assessment. Take Stalin and communism for instance. Joe Stalin was obviously a monster. He was ruthless. He couldn't trust anybody. Even his own daughter defected. But, his regime did last for several decades. But, you have to remember, he had to pretend he was doing things for the good of his fellow countrymen. He had to pretend he was patriotic when in reality, he was out for Joe Stalin. The good of Joe Stalin trumped everything else. He sure left his mark. He left a country in shambles. He left a country that still have to undo all the craziness and evil that he committed. As for Saddam Hussein - you said that if it were not for coalition forces, he would still be in power. You have to remember that when coalitions forces entered Baghdad, no one was out their to defend Saddam Hussein. If it were not for coalition forces, then something else would have come up and his people would find a way to undermine his evil regime. It would have taken longer, but there was no way that Saddam Hussein would have left any kind of legacy. The thing about evil is that it is a funny thing. You can obviously succeed in the short term. You have a leg up on people who are honest, but inevitably you lose. Indeed, evil will inevitably disappear altogether over time. And it may take a long time. But look at the trend. Is civilization as barbaric as they were hundreds of years ago? Over time good civilizations survive, but ones fall apart. Same thing with killing each other. Every good civilization preaches that you shall not kill for any reason. The civilizations that most adhere to that seem to survive over time. The ones that advocate killing and torture seem to fall apart. Hey, I am not any kind of great philosopher, but that is just my observations.
