Amazing to pay $400-450k for 1500 sf condo in gentrified hood when you can get a 2500 sf house for only $150-200k out in the burbs.

there is a lot of that in Austin. i chalk it up to America's conformist yuppie culture.

you can get a 2500 sf house in a 1970s neighborhood about 15 minutes south of town for low 200s, about 3% annual increase from 2000.

It's the same in Dallas as I showed you awhile back. Intown crap has nearly kept pace with the bubble markets. A lot of it is up 2-300% based on current sales from when I moved here in 1989 from California. I don't know who's paying these prices but they're going to be sorry.
