Well, I hope it's more accurate since we more human intelligence resources available to us now that we're in Iraq.

I can't go into detail.. But I've seen enough to convince me that Iran is exporting trained terrorists and weapons into Iraq..

The question is what they end game is?? Are they planning on igniting their own Jihad against Sunnis via an Iraqi Shi'a proxy? Or is it merely a defensive measure to thwart Al-Qai'da from seizing complete control..

But since I'm convinced that certain groups within Iran are tolerating, if not providing support to, Zarqawi's factions, I have to ask if the goal is to maintain a level of turmoil in Iraq that

1.) neutralizes any threat to Iran..

2.) Insures Iranian influence in Iraq as the government battles Zarqawi and Arab Shi'a blood continues to spill (not Persian, mind you)..

3.) Permits Iran to continue to consolidate economic and political influence in the oil rish Shi'a regions as they offer "protection" and support.

4.) And most importantly, forces the US to recognize that they have to deal with Iran in order to extract themselves from the near-civil war the Iranians hope to create in Iraq.

That's my take on Iran's support for terrorism in Iraq. History speaks to their support for terrorism elsewhere.
