Why would it be surprising if Iran is aiding insurgents in Iraq? Bush calls the govt of Iran evil, has made no secret of his desire to change it (despite elections there). Bush has also said of Iraq, better to fight "them" there than here. Surely the govt of Iran feels the same way--better to fight the US in Iraq than to face US bombs and/or military in Iran. And with the added revenue they have from skyrocketing oil prices, they can pretty easily afford to support anti-American forces in Iraq.

If the logic of pre-emptive strikes is a reasonable line of policy to adopt--as the Bush admin claims--then support of anti-American forces in Iraq is surely an eminently reasonable policy for Iran. Not only to keep things there so messy that the US can't turn to Iran, but also the sour the American people on the very idea of invading a country far far away which doesn't actually pose an imminent threat (as opposed to a "grave and gathering threat").

Yup, Iranian supported, Zarqawi terrorists blew up those two Shia mosques today with white phosphorous bombs supplied by Iran but unfortunately I cannot go into any details. I can tell you however, I did get the information from Pearle who got it from Conrad Black.
