Saying that the current administration is the only source of our budget problems would be specious. But they certainly haven't done a good job of containing spending. Even if you exclude all war and homeland security/national security/defense spending, and you exclude spending for Katrina, or for relief and aid spending from other disasters both foreign and domestic, you still will find that spending has trended strongly up during this administration.
