"All of the above can own and possess and to an extent drive cars."

I'm not arguing what is possible, Tim. I said "don't" not "can't"...but what one CAN do and what one can legally, morally, or rationally do (within the logic of the Constitution) is another matter.

By "can own and possess" I meant legally own and possess. Or you might say "legally, morally and rationally" own and possess.

How the car is USED is absolutely regulated.

True, but its ownership is almost unregulated except for tax purposes and deterring theft. We regulate the use of cars and guns already. You are not allowed to murder someone with either, or even act in a grossly negligent manner with them. If I owned a gun I wouldn't be allowed to go in to my backyard and shoot it without proper justification because shooting a gun in a populated area causes some level of risk to others
(and also makes a lot of noise but that is only a secondary consideration). Its not unreasonable to regulate the use of firearms in such a manner and it doesn't run against the 2nd amendment prohibition against any law that infringes on "the right to keep and bear arms". I can keep it and bear it, just not endanger other people with it without proper justification.

It is illegal to use cars as a weapon.

Not it isn't. Its legal to use a car as a weapon in self defense or to defend another. Of course its a little more difficult to effectively defend yourself with a car than a gun, esp. without endangering innocent people, but if someone is in the road trying to shoot me it wouldn't be illegal for me to run him over.
