Pretty scary bullish thought if that's the right count.

VIX back under 10, VIX-Classic gunning for single-digits, Dow back over 10.8k, bullish sentiment...whether it happens or not, I don't know, but all the ingredients are there for a Bull Run of Pamplona, if not downright Epic proportions.

Hope you won't mind my asking, Shack....but as, always, want to make sure I'm clear on.....and understand......your thinking.

Does all that, quoted above, mean that you are buying Brian's count.???

(Understand very well your current bullish bent........but think it's fair to say (no?) that you've pretty much steered clear of putting a specific shape/count to it....gg)

Hi Shack,

I just registered here on SI, a year or so now after Mish said I should. I used to read some of the messages here, but cut back when they changed the viewing format for non-subscribers.

Anyway, that SPX count came out of the failed breakdown a month ago, and the strong move we've had since. It seems that the 61.8% retrace of the 2000-2002 Bear at 1255 is going to be broken, and some kind of running triangle seems to best explain the last 2 years (geez, has it been that long?!)

Anyway, hope you don't mind me popping in here. There is no serious EW forum on Fool.com.

Brian

Dunno, my friend... I must be old fashioned in some ways... To me triangles are either symmetric, or ascending, or descending... I'll even buy an occasional claim for a "widening" variety, the existence of which is considered to be arguable by many. But the wedge-like way of triangulating is, I still think, a bit of an innovation.... ;)

Just to show that I'm not totally stale and didactic, let me offer a speculation that if - perhaps - if there IS a wedge-like triangle, that might explain some of the "hounds". I can see that - sometimes - a wedge may "hound" because it is (in reality) a series of 1's and 2's... and it could also be that a (hypothetical) stretched out "wedge-like triangle" may be followed by a strong 5th (or "C").... explaining the "hound".

Thinking back about many, many charts, I sort of like this speculation.

Freep, (or anyone) what do you think? I recall we discussed things once along these lines.
