10:51 Floor Talk: Semis Earlier we noted technical breakouts in INTC (10:04) and KLAC (10:19), and the rally in semis has since broadened out to almost the entire group (SOX +1.1%). Although Merrill did upgrade MU this morning following yesterday's INTC/MU news, the entire semi group is moving as though there is some serious accumulation going on (note that the first pullback in the SOX didn't happen until 30 minutes into the run). After talking to our contacts, they generally tell us that yesterday's INTC/MU news is simply pulling just about the whole sector along, not to mention that now is a seasonally strong time of year for stocks. By the way, no one is citing the official launch of the Xbox 360 today as any type of catalyst, saying it has been fully factored into the stocks by now, and note that Xbox play ATYT (-2.1%) is one of the few Semi stocks under pressure (after its Chairman announced his retirement).
