Micron shares rise after estimates raised on Intel venture

<<SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Micron Technology shares rose as much as 3% Tuesday after two Wall Street analysts raised their revenue estimates for the chipmaker on its plans to form a memory-chip joint venture with Intel Corp., which the two firms announced early Monday. Micron rose 3% to $14.63 at midday. Intel also rose, gaining 3.3% to $26.08. The investment bank ThinkEquity Partners, which rates Micron shares accumulate, raised it 2006 revenue and profit estimates for Micron for the second time in two weeks, calling the joint venture "a big positive for Micron." ThinkEquity now sees fiscal year 2006 revenue of $5.55 billion, up from $5.46 billion, and earnings per share of 60 cents, up from 57 cents. American Technology Research also raised its 2006 revenue estimate for Micron.>>
