stockbull,

re: I can't help but wonder if Dell has the same agreement with other retail outlets.

Don't know about Dell in other retail stores, but kiosks are opening all over.

Nothing I can find in the press regarding Dell using AMD overseas.

Dell Direct Stores Within Reach of More Than Half of U.S. Population; New Kiosk in San Francisco Brings Total to 145, Up from 84 at Start of Year

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 22, 2005--With the opening of the 145th Dell Direct Store in San Francisco this week, Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) today announced its convenient shopping kiosks are now within reach of more than 50 percent of the U.S. population.

Dell Direct Stores were launched in 2002 as a hands-on complement to Dell.com and phone sales. They have grown 58 percent this year, from 84 locations in 11 states to 145 stores in 20 states with the opening of the kiosk in the San Francisco Center.

The stores showcase an assortment of Dell's newest plasma and LCD TVs, notebook and desktop computers including the XPS product line, printers and music players. Digital cameras -- which some analysts predict will be another hot gadget this holiday season -- can also be ordered online at each location. Direct Stores are staffed by representatives ready to assist customers with questions or help with their online purchases.

"Customers are telling us they like the Dell Direct Store concept because it gives them a chance to see and try our products before buying them," said Tom West, Dell's marketing director for home and small business. "We've expanded the program this year to accommodate the retail customer's appetite for Dell products and expertise."

States added this year to the Direct Store roster include Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Washington and Wisconsin.
