i'm talking about the corporate stores. CEOs of VLO, CVX, XOM, etc. all noted that they restrained price increases at their own stores. VLO actually had a loss at its stores for the quarter, i believe. obviously this doesn't affect what the independents did, though.

John, gas prices dropped 25% from their high - do you know why the sudden decline?

Are they expected to go back up?

Or, can we expect the Q4 consumer holiday shopping party to continue?

Hightech was expecting the consumer floor to drop due to high gas prices, however, now that gas prices have declined we are suddenly seeing rather nasty component shortages spread to other component types in hightech. The supply chain is not good.

4 month lead-times are suddenly in vogue.
