In 2004, we had a woman running to represent this area as a Republican. She promised to be Smirk's voice in Congress. Personally, I was under the impression she should be representing us and not Bush, but...

Any way, she lost. Not by a lot, but she was considered to be a shoe in. It confirmed my sense that things were shifting, despite the appearance that Bush was riding high.
