Michael, what does it means to say that we are going to wage a War on Terrorism?

Over the decades there have been all sorts of wars proclaimed --- on Poverty, Racism, Hunger, etc. etc., and now the gran daddy of them all: a War on Terror. The use of such terminology should instantly alert you that something fishy is going on.

Terrorism is a police problem, not a military one.

Why is it happening?

I suppose you could say that yes, there is war --- one being waged by government on the assets and freedom of citizens.

In the article you posted, this appears:
“we must continue the war until we achieve our objective, which is to remove all the governments that sponsor terror....”

Remove all governments that sponsor terror? Yeah, like we are we going to remove Putin, because he sponsored false flag attacks on apartment buildings in Moscow, and we going to remove Sharon, because he has killed hundreds of innocent people by firing missiles into crowded tenements, and we are going to remove Bush, because he used liquid phosphorus (or whatever it was) in Falujah?

Sure we are.

What is so discouraging about these ploys --- these utterly transparent scams --- is how well they work. It tells you more than you want to know about the American people, i.e., they are just like their President, at one and the same time both innocent and brutal.

The WSJ editorial page can always be relied on for good "objective" commentary, in the LindyBill sense of objective anyway. The thing is, as near as I can tell, the official line from such "objective" sources is that things are going really well in Iraq, and always have been, since W accomplished his mission of getting the war of his heart's desire. It's unfortunate and unfair that conventional reality keeps leaking out despite the continual smearage against anybody who would say otherwise and serial PR offensives from the White House, but that's life

Bush is actually insane. Bush is also an imbecile who is so far above his pay grade that he hides from the press, from the public and from almost everyone except his vestal virgins.

Heck, even Poppy Bush's best friend is publicly denouncing Bush's foreign 'policy' and, I'm sure, is doing so with Poppy's approval.

Knock off THE BIG LIE. Bush knew that Saddam had nothing to do with 911 and with AQ and was no threat to anyone except his own people. Now there's another PDB that shows he's and his minions have been flogging THE BIG LIE in order to commit an illegal war.
