Which "chard" are you drinking?

Your post is lucid, compassionate, and speaks volumes for the rest of us/lurkers.

By and large the PfP thread's participants are knowledgeable and well read (some, more so than others). But, more often than not, discussions wind up as yesterday's rants and it's on to the next day's topic de jour.

Then once in a while someone comes to the party with a missive like yours. My god, its nice breathing fresh air once in a while!

Thanks for your comments, and to all a Happy Thanksgiving!

The President does not communicate well. LOL... when is the last time to checked into whitehouse.gov or you can check into gop.com

Every thing you don't read about is a secret from you. And the failure to keep the public informed is his fault in that the economy is going so well, no one bothers to pay attention.

Now if one want secrets, what is the democrat's plan for anything. Other than constantly suggesting the President is dishonest.

If I don't think you have it in you to understand it, that is also my saying I don't think I have it in me to explain it. That can be a put down of you or an admission of my own inability to convey the complexity. The truth is often complexity wrapped in complexity. Coming up with simple mindseye visuals thay convey the correct perspective is not simple.

But I have no problem understanding where President stands on issues and why his choices of action make great sense. And we both know President Bush speaks and communicates with respect for others and honesty. And by and large his oposition speaks with no respect and a lot of dishonesty. I cannot come up with another explanation that those who don't know this, simply don't care, or are quite dumb, or are delusional or dishonest.
The public record of tens of thousands of consistant events and documents and actions is crystal clear.

To me your analysis of the President is you putting yourself down. And I doubt you have it in you to understand that.

What fact am I wedded to that contraindicate the beliefs I express.

Maybe I have found other facts the alter my understanding of the true meaning of those facts you think contraindicate my or others beliefs. Maybe I can play my information gathering instrument well and maybe I have a very unique perspective based upon a rare and unique set of life experiences.

On the "where this admin has taken us fiscally" 911 as an attack had a goal of totally upsetting our, the US economy. It was a strategic and symbolic target. The War on Terror now on our door step was also a war of symbols. It's a global effort to win hearts and minds and the US economy is a hugh symbol.

So do you find the current unemployment rate of 4.9% unacceptable. Do you find the current growth rate of GDP unacceptable. In addition to the ragheads who blow themselves up, there are enemies who look to see cause and effect over the long term. Projecting economic recovery into the future is much like long term weather forcasting. I for one believe that spending, or even borrowing to spend now can accelerate the economy. Yes we will have to pay the piper some day. But what does the US economy look like to those over there by the numbers.

The President is always forced by compromise to choose to do nothing or do what he can. Now let's look at you educated analysis of the border problem. You don't know the details of what the President proposed. In reality any idea, well let's say most ideas can turn out to be good or stupid based upon how the idea is executed. I expect you do not know the idea or have any idea about how it is to be executed. You have an opinion based upon your collective assessment of talking heads opinions.

I have see no talking heads make any real case that the President's plan is fatally flawed. I just know that like drugs, making it illegal does not stop it. There are only ways to exert some control of the flow.

As to mandates, if they suck, why is the congress not addressing those mandates. Do the states with that problem have no representation at the Federal level.

Maybe you need to talk with moderate Republicans and unhinged democrats.

And I can also make arguments on how spending money on the elderly and children, post 911 is in itself defense related.

One can make arguments that Oil for Food was a masterful way of creating mega holes in the human security of Western powers that could well be fatal to thousands.
