What will they say when Iraq turns into a terrorist state, attacks the US seriously, and we go back in- -say, 2,000,000 strong?

We'll make sure you're leading the way!

"A while back the kiberals were complaining that we didn't have enough boots on the ground in Iraq to straighten things on. Now they want to reduce the count all the way to zero. Is there a consistency problem here?"

No. If we had put the boots on the ground back then, we wouldn't be having a brewing civil war now. Given that we won't put the even greater number of boots on the ground to put a lid on the civil war, if that is even possible at this stage, the next most reasonable thing is to examine our options. Which range from poor to pretty damn nasty.

On the up side, the odds of Iraq evolving into a terrorist state has dropped quite a bit. The likely victors, the Shiites, are not going to be real tolerant of Sunni terrorists.
