I really wish I'd seen Best play ... That would've been great ..... .......... Like seeing the Beatles. Never did that either. .......... As Rob Hughes of the International Herald Tribune, said today: “In the past 50 years, soccer has produced five celestial players: Alfredo Di Stefano of Argentina; Pele of Brazil; Johan Cruyff of the Netherlands; Diego Maradona of Argentina, and Georgie Best of Northern Ireland.” I got the chance once to see Cruyff play. Lucky me. But never Best. Oh well. There was a death watch for weeks as George lay dying in London. The whole of Britain mourned in advance. /john
