The reason we have been unsuccessful in the war on terrorism is because we have failed to win the hearts. We should have learnt our lessons from Vietnam where we lost because we tortured the locals and failed to win the hearts of the locals. Guerilla wars are won not with bullets to kill the enemy but with acts of kindness to win the hearts.

There's Saddam style torture...gouging eyes, slicing off fingers, torture that leaves permanent scars and is life threatening. CIA/military intelligence torture isn't anywhere in the same league and comparing the 2 is night and day. Get real. If no torture in the form of sleep deprivation and other soft techniques were used they wouldn't get any information at all. And guess what, just to show you how foolish this torture nonsense is. The same techniques the CIA and MI use is the same thing that EVERY AIRCREW THAT GOES THROUGH SURVIVAL SCHOOL HAS TO ENDURE!!!!!
