Not "surprising" to me. It's getting cheaper and faster.

re: Check out the specs on flash vs. hard disks, it'll probably come as a surprise (it certainly is counter intuitive), but standard hard disks have far faster data rates than flash. A critical capability in a mass storage device.

I've been watching the specs for years. Solid state will eventually beat moving parts, it's a matter of how and when, not if.

Try to think a little beyond today's specs.
