Peter, If someone is truly a legal immigrant, and has something to offer for this nation, he should be able to receive citizenship as long as he meets all of the requirements, and above all, rejects his citizenship in where ever he came from, and become a full time American. It's kind of like the marriage vow; leave you mother and father and cleave only to your husband/wife. (paraphrased, of course) Every candidate for citizenship should be investigated to prevent the wrong kind of people ie. criminals, spies, malcontents, etc. from becoming citizens. There are hundreds of thousands of American citizens that do not believe in the American way, and hold no alliegence to America. That has to stop!!
