You should get The Golden One and listen to it, unabridged, on CD or tape. It's set in Egypt during WWI and features a family of Egyptologists/archeologists who manage to get themselves involved in mysteries and murder. The reader sounds just like Diana Rigg in her current role as Mrs. Bradley or the host of Mystery Theater. I'm currently listening to Martha Grimes' Foul Matter, which is a real hoot. It's about people in the NY publishing world. Very engaging. I listen to books all the time to counteract the stress of L.A. traffic.
