<Wish we didnt take him alive. This show is intolerable>

Oh, come on. Bear-baiting has been popular for centuries. This is just the latest version. Milosevic has been caged and tormented by fleets of lawyers for years now. Saddam will keep the media and the viewers entertained for ages too. The last thing wanted by many is a quick trial and a quick execution.

I'm inclined to think it would be better to have him alive so he can report on all the people who wanted this that and the other from him. When dead, he won't be able to say what was going on when the USA was backing him. He won't be able to say whether the French were getting a lot or a little of this that and the other. Etc.

Killing him is too easy and not like a normal execution of a common criminal who has no information of value and who will not be a martyr for a cause.

I'm hoping for a nice, long, highly informative and entertaining trial, with the powerful around the world called to account for their misdeeds.

His two sons are dead. So much better if they too were alive. Though I can understand that having them dead is a relief to a LOT of people who suffered at their hands.

While i watched him in the dock today, he did look alot like stalin and hitler and in some very real sense the world is a far better place without him. Wish we didnt take him alive. This show is intolerable. mike

Definitely a megalo-maniac.. who thought he had the right to impose his will upon the rest of Iraq, as well as the entire Mid-East.

And war's never go smoothly. The old adage "no plan survives first contact with the enemy" is as true today, as it ever has been.

The key is to adjust your strategy to match the moves of the opponents, including new ones who present themselves.

But the goal should never be in question. To insure that power within Iraq is so diffused and decentralized (democracy) that it is never able to concentrate and be projected externally except by the will of the nation as a whole.
