I don't think Richard Reid, or the woman who failed to blow up the wedding party in Jordan, or any of the other terrorists I've read about, would have become the government anywhere.

I don't think Osama would either.

Some of the IRA seem to be getting themselves into political power, but none of them were caught disguised as grandmothers with nail clippers trying to board aircraft with a view to flying them into Westminster.

The Brazilian shot in the London underground didn't make it into government either. Though those who shot him had made it into government, more's the pity. If they'd had jobs as dog catchers instead of the anti-terrorist squad it would have been more fitting for their talents = they'd probably be able to recognize a dog and not mistake a human for a dog.
