If you aren't interested in "selling" anything, than who cares about the point? Who cares about anything? What does it matter? Either you are interested in promoting your ideas, in which case you ARE in sales, and you shouldn't insult the customers, even if they insult you, OR you are just here to yell at people and insult them, and that's not debate (imo, of course).

Some of the rightwingers are simply evil, but imo the majority of them are merely borderline mentally ill. They lack the capacity to discern truth from falsehood ... I don't know where they get it from but their capacity for self-deception is limitless. Despite all evidence to the contrary they continue to present their facades of good intention even though everything they support creates more human misery in the world ... they don't even know they are doing it, lying is completely instinctive to them.
