Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose... Kris Kristofferson I suppose that freedom is relative, if that's what you mean. However, to say that liberals do not have purpose is a POV that many liberals do not share. Liberals still fight for the little guy, for social programs, for the environment, for government accessability, for the consumer. Conservatives are more pro-business, and fight for corporations in the hope that 'trickle down' will keep them hydrated. I do agree that liberals can be very elitist. I cringed when I saw the video of Kerry windsurfing during the campaign. His comment about NASCAR was classic: "Who amongst us is not a NASCAR fan?" Me. And, obviously, him too.

Note that the congressman is a Republican. :) Congressman says BCS 'deeply flawed' Associated Press HOUSTON (AP) - Calling the Bowl Championship Series "deeply flawed," the chairman of a congressional committee has called a hearing on the controversial system used to determine college football's national champion. A House Energy and Commerce subcommittee, charged with regulating America's sports industry, announced Friday it will conduct a hearing on the BCS next week, after this season's bowl matchups are determined. "College football is not just an exhilarating sport, but a billion-dollar business that Congress cannot ignore," said committee Chairman Joe Barton, a Texas Republican.
