Odd you never whine about your kook threads on SI that have banned civil opposition voices...

Actually, it's the dems' true colors coming out. 2006 and 2008 are going to be the best years for republican commercials using democrat sound bites. Should be more entertaining than the SuperBowl commercials.....

"I am not sure I agree with CJ that the GOP is on its death bed if for no other reason that Americans still can't distinguish between Republicans and Dems........"

Duke Cunningham is just the tip of the iceberg. The FBI and the military can't ignore corruption on the military contracts any more. Directly related to the Dukester are Kathleen Harris and Virgil Goode. Once they start scratching on that wound, no doubt there are others. Lots of others. And the Abramoff investigation is going to involve a lot of others. And pretty much all these will be Republicans, no point in bribing a Democrat. In the House, DeLay would be sure and spike anything that a Democrat would want, his goal was to have control over all the money. He would be sure that no Democrat would benefit. So DeLay's lust for total control means that the number of Democrats that are involved are small. In addition, it looks as if the chosen damage control is to try to give the impression that this isn't party specific. So there will be a desperate attempt to find dirty Democrats. Which, they will find. But they will have to search pretty hard, and that investigation is going to expose more Republicans.

It is a perfect storm. And the Republicans have arranged for themselves being the sole targets.
