Is there another asset class that can replace RE, as a next cassino?.

I often wonder about that myself. I would like to think no. I would like to think it's time to pay the piper. It's time to work and produce something for a living rather than living off of gambling gains.

However, our society is addicted to the fast and easy money. The gambling culture won't die easily. I would have thought the internet bubble burst would cause people to retrench. Nope. It only set off an even bigger gamble on real estate.

Will there be a next bubble? Perhaps. Maybe precious metals. Maybe back to the stock market.

However, I doubt it. Another bubble can't possibly replace residential real estate bursting. There is nothing that can offset the devastation coming in terms of lost economic activity.

Think of all the remodel contractors, framers, electricians, real estate agents, title company employees, mortgage brokers, and the multiplier effect on their wages.

We're in for a huge hangover. It's time to pay the piper.
