Judge UPHOLDS Money Laundering Charges. Delay will go to JAIL.

Delay was seeking to have ALL the charges dismissed. It was a hearing HIS lawyers called for. The two more serious money laundering charges were retained. Delay wanted to skip on out and go back to being majority leader. Sorry Tom!

Conspiracy was the smallest charge. Money laundering is the biggie. And you should not be defending a crook like DElay. He's a disgrace to our country and the GOP. Blind party loyalty can only hurt the GOP going forward. Typically, in these cases, judges try to streamline a case and focus on where there is the strongest charge. It should be a slamdunk guilty rap for money laundering which carries 2 years to life in prison. I heard Delay even admitted he did it in an interview with Ronnie Earle early on. He was so arrogant he felt above the law. Delay's whole defense is on technicalities, like that a check isn't money, only cash is. BS like that. Also that it wasn't technically illegal and everyhone does it (the judge rejected both of those). Plus, Delay's running a dishonest smear campaign in Texas against Earle. I saw an ad when I was in Houston where Delay actually has the gall to claim that the only thing he did wrong was be a conservative. What hogwash. This is the most corrupt politician in the whole country talking. Also, that smear campaign hasn't helped. Texas polls show him with support in the mid 30's stateside and disapprovals well over 50%.
