We're a democracy. The Repugnicans have learned how to manipulate the stupid vote. They don't want them to get any smarter. They even have gone so far as to make one of them President! The problem is enough people fell for the manipulations and lies because they weren't paying attention or they wanted to fall for them; enough to get Bush elected. That's what troubles me. Worse.....roughly 30-40% think Bush is still okay.....even after the manipulations and lies had been expose. That means Bush reflects those peoples' values. The rest of us have got to stop kidding ourselves that Bush's election was simply a fluke, or that Rove has almost magical powers. On the contrary, there is a significant minority in this country who are out of step with the rest of the country, That's what troubles me. ted
