Like going across a border without having to convince the immigration cop that you really aren't going to give him a bribe, and you will report him if he doesn't back off. Or trying to explain to an illiterate 15-year-old with an AK-47 aimed at your head that you really are a journalist who has an official appointment with the local war lord while your driver/fixer, who you hired for the day, begs in a language that you slightly understand not to be shot and you know that he would gladly trade your life for a clean escape.
