The Ruffed Grouse certainly has great camoflage.
Blends in so nicely.

Those red squirrels sure do hog those seeds.

We have them up in the Adirondacks.

Home, I have a family of grey squirrels I've been
supporting for several years now. They only bug
me when they jump out onto the "squirrel proof"
feeders I have and hang upsidedown and eat and eat
and eat even while I tap at the window.

The chipmunks are cool. I love watching them.

We get juncos, gold finch, tit mouse, chickadees,
woodpeckers, blue jays, cardinals, and mourning
doves on or under our feeders. Occasionally we'll
get about a bazillion starlings to visit but they
usually don't stay long.

We used to see the eastern blue bird often, but in
the past few years they haven't been around. They
would never go near the feeders but at least I'd
see them zipping here and there from tree to tree.
One pair even made a nest in the first blue bird
house I ever built. That was a thrill. I built
it to the proper specs and sure enough they moved
right in.

Later Gator.

I can't find this photo on the net, but if you have access to The Nature Conservancy Mag, there is a stunning photo of bison in winter.
