ManyMoose, House arrest has been shown to be an iffy proposition. You might do a google search for the pizza delivery person who was killed by a convicted criminal who was under house arrest at the time of that killing. That one pops immediately into my mind, but there have been many other, ah, mishaps with house arrest.

I might favor house arrest for those convicted of the so-called nonviolent crimes. I think also there are way too many people incarcerated for crimes which should never have been chargeable offenses. - Holly
