After wars that cause great loss of life mostly in the male population, women produce more sons. Nature has its ways. I learned this in college 40 years ago so i am thinking its still right. By the way, I remember learning that after WW1, the french lost 2 inches in hight because of trench warfare. Prior to WW1 they had been europes tallest people and the tall were the most vulnerable. Good news for short dudes everywhere.
