Just saw Syriana. Was it you who said it was a double instead of home run? I would say it was better than that. We mostly saw superficial events, with the suggestion of ominous covert agendas. There were brief moments of clarification, but I think it's to the films credit that it avoided being ham-handed, hitting viewers over the head with some nasty truth and with moral righteousness to boot. I think it appeals to a more sophisticasted audience, but there's enough there to make the average viewer realize once again that the lofty rhetoric from DC has little to do with reality. All we really care about is our next fix.
