"Their may have been less complaints under Clinton, but the time for the feds to respond was not very much different."

BS. Can you use actual data? No you allow your religion to get in the way. My parents have yet to talk to a FEMA agent. Despite the fact that they are going on 3 months since Rita. Now true, they were cutting checks in Florida in less than 72 hours after a storm, but that was an election year.

They are looking for another excuse to prove that gov't is worthless. They undermine an agency and then point it out as the inefficiency of gov't. Its their own self fulfilling prophesy.

FLA wasn't well served by FEMA in the immeditate aftermath of the hurricanes. It might have been better but it wasn't night and day. FL did have a better state response and in general the planning seemed better. Also FL didn't have anything like a city going under water so it was easier to deal with. That having been said I do think Brown did a poor job, even by FEMA standards. Brown gets the blame for that and Bush gets the secondary blame for making the appointment.
