That is still faulty methodology.

It equates Rush Limbaugh od Matt Drudge with any other national journalist. Now if one is honest they will admit that Rush Limbaugh or Matt Drudge has much more influence.

Personally I think that to actually compare they would have to come to an agreement about which points are liberal or conservative. The they could count how many times the points appeared in the given media outlets.

The first point for me is that any point being made that advocates an increase in concentration of power (to either government or corporations) is a right wing point. I know this is the antithesis of what traditional conservatives think. But the neocons who are dressing themselves in righty clothing are very much in favor of concentration of power. Look at the patriot act. Look at free trade agreements.

Another thing about that analysis is that it equates attitudes of journalists with what they actually write about.

If I am reading an article about illegal immigration does it make any difference whether the author thinks it is important to believe in God in order to be moral? It is entirely possible to have a conservative belief on one issue and a liberal view on another. I am like that. I have a few issues that I am conservative on. Even though on most others I am very liberal.

So to me the analysis must be made based on the points made to the public in the articles written. If the analysis is not based on that it is just a sham.
