You don't build an army from those trained in an army of terrorists. Let's go to the Mafia and Prisons to get police recruits. If you have them in the police they won't switch over to the criminals.

Bush's inability to train Iraqis may be intentional. I heard an LA Times Bangkok bureau chief say that Bushies are trying to offer the US public hope (success right around the next corner) and at the same time scare us (fear-mongering about Al Qadia taking over if we leave). Why? Because Bushies want a permanent military presence in Iraq, want the oil-fields in their hands and want Halliburton and others to keep making the big defense contract money.

Bush will be forced to withdraw a portion of the troops soon, but he doesn't want to go any further. In other words, he's not leveling with us, has a secret plan and we have to pay for it all.

Yes, it's otherwise incredible we have to have US soldiers doing all the dirty work over there.
