On average, a Caucasian has to have 20 IQ points over an Asian to score the same on a standardized math test even when both grew up in the US.

I have little trouble believing this since even college educated individuals here on SI can't get simple concepts like average and median!

That cracks me up. I found my dad's leather belt to be a great incentive to learn the rules and methods of mathematics ... left to my own devices my only interests were baseball and girls.

Although I didn't spend much time reviewing their site, I notice "Mathematically Correct" is opposed to constructivism. A number of years ago, California elementary schools were encouraged to use a constructivist perspective for math. This approached was discontinued about 5-6 years ago. I believe this change occurred when math standards were revised. Current state adopted math texts have moved far away from constructivism.
