If the indians are developing an internal management ability it is often best. The problem is they have sent their young off to law, business, medical, etc. school for years, and they returned and fell into the degenerate ways of the worst their tribe. Not enough have returned to become success role models for the youth of their people.

IMHO there is too many native Americans living off of welfare checks or tribal distributions. I went to college with a person from Northern Arizona. He hated indians because they were lazy drunken good for nothing bums that just waited for their next check from BIA. Once a year they came to town and bought fancy new pickups to replace the ones they beaten up in the interim. These are his observations and prejudices, not mine.

Maybe if we were trying to conquer space the culture of the plains indians could be a real asset. Independent hunters who came together when there was a need could be a great asteroid mining culture.

There was a researcher studying monkeys in Africa. Halfway through her research someone started building a hotel nearby. The hard working, early rising monkeys started sleeping late, and scavenging leftovers.
