Ultimately checks, paper currency, numbers in a bank account, etc. are all promises to pay.

Chaka just posted we should use Virtual Gold - backed by another mans promise - now correct me if I am wrong - but I thought the founding fathers were about using the REAL COINS with no promise by any man - cause men lie - all of them at some point - but the gold in your HAND - that is the only TRUTH correct? This Chaka confuses me - he is blurring 2 memes that should be seperate and making his arguement weak.

Elroy Jeston gave me a history lesson about ancient rome, and how over time less and less of the coins were made up of silver and gold - and ancient spain - and how with a massive influx of aztec gold things went bad for them - and russia and how people with gold coins in the city starved to death while the farmers in the countryside feasted on roasted duck and potatoes and good vodka - but you seem to forget these history lessons - its not about the GOLD - it never was. Gold without POWER to make it be MONEY is worthless you see - les horowitz many years ago showed me how the indians used to use beads for their money.

Now I am betting if Rome didn't have soldiers with swords that would stab you, and spain didn't have conquistadors with swords that would stab you, and russian farmers didn't have pitchforks that could stab you, or the USA with nukular bombs and tanks and subs - things would be different today and in history. You can't make me take your GOLD for my COW and MILK and EGGS - but a government with 20 snipers trained on my forehead probably can - you and the general seem to keep forgetting that is why the farmer pays his taxes - not because he believes in GOLD - it was never about GOLD. Its not about PROMISES to pay either - its about if you don't do right good citizen - many men with guns will FORCE you into jail or into a 6 foot hole - dont believe me - start breaking the laws of the people making those PROMISES to pay - here let me remind you whats on the dollar - the full faith and credit of the US GUBBMENT - your friend - uncle sam. hehe
