That's what I wonder.. I actually got in a fight with my friends husband, he said he was waiting until she really needed them...I said she was all but screaming in pain, how much more did she have to hurt?

It apparently is dificult to control. My mother, 9 years ago, had breast cancer that also became liver cancer; all inoperable and no drug/radiation therapy to suppress it; the Drs gave her 3 months to live and morphine patches for pain. She started out with a 25 mg patch every 3 days. Before she died, she was up to 175 mg patch every day and wanting more. She was so drugged out, she didn't know me or anyone else or anyplace. It seemed to me it would have been a lot more merciful to let her go or even help her along without the morphine mega doses.
