Yet, inexplicably, the Bush administration, which in the past has asked for help from Arab and European countries, has not responded to offers from Egypt to help train Iraqi troops, said Nabil Fahmy, Egypt's ambassador to Washington." "We have the capacity to train about 3,000 Iraqi troops in Egypt every three months," said the Egyptian ambassador. "I spoke to the Pentagon, I spoke to the people at the State Department and I spoke to the National Security Council. ... It's at this point where I stopped begging," said Fahmy.

Too bad we didn't expend a few millions of $ to speed this one up a little. Hopefully they get rough counts in the next few days that will show the landscape, so the jockeying can start. Just got myself into some trouble here over some words One has to maintain some traditions. :) Edit: Now would be a good time for some prominent Dems to congradulate both the Iraqi's, and Bush, and press in the short term for great progress, rather than piss it away. JMHO.
