Thank you for dispelling by mistaken opinions. I am also sure that there are many successful members of tribes that have obtained their success in the outside world. If these and those who have been successful in managing tribal assets are the role models of the next generation, then the future looks brighter than the some times in the past.

Tim Johnson is running for reelection in South Dakota in 2006. In 2000 Tom Daschle spearheaded an effort to send paid people onto the Sioux reservations to register voters. He sent tham back later to secure the ballots of those people. The registrations fraud perpetrated during that effort is among the highest in recent history. Many of the ballots brought back by the Democrat bounty hunters were alleged to be blank. John Thune just barely lost to Tim Johnson despite the support of the largest newspaper in the state supporting Johnson, and the massive Democrat vote fraud.

That scale of fraud would have been difficult to perpetrate on a productive successful population.

It appears highly unlikely that slaves would make successful asteroid miners. Escape would be too easy in the required space ships, and the tools would resemble weapons too much. It might be a solitary type of existence.
