Since this war will last forever, the constitution is really mute. We can just as well become a dictatorship right now.

It is really convenient that the enemy is not a state but instead individuals. As long as the enemy are individuals it is easy to always find guilty ones to perpetuate it. The term war is used nowadays whenever emotions need to be stirred. By now the people are so confused by the war on drugs, the war on poverty, etc that they cannot distinguish real war from propaganda anymore. What a sad state of affairs.
