If I had to define nonpartisan, a simple criterion would be people who are open to voting for any party in the 2008 elections, instead of knowing they will stick with the team they always vote for. That would reduce the thread to a point where the critical mass for interesting discussion would be lost. It is, however, what I had in mind when I started the thread. Instead we have people who are clearly aligned to one side or another, yet they want to have a civilized discussion with folks from the other side of the fence. That is a social good in itself, so that is how we will proceed.
