Same as China annoyed Great Britain in the opium wars when the British wanted to be able to sell products in China, including opium. <How did the USA manage to pi** off the Bolivians?> China's bosses wanted to ban opium and the USA's bosses want to ban cocaine.

Since Bolivia makes a LOT of money from selling cocaine to Americans, they are sure to be grumpy when their exports are cut off.

The war on drugs seems nuts to me. If people want to poison themselves with plant toxins, I don't see why it's my problem. Leave them to it. I don't want to pay taxes to stop people doing something which is a personal issue. In a purportedly free society, with the slogan "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" as their byword, it seems absurd that lives are taken, liberty banished and happiness not allowed [unless sought in ways approved by the Washington central planners].

Cigarettes and booze kill untold numbers of people who choose their own demise. I don't see why people can't make a similar choice for themselves in regard to other plant toxins.

I don't see why your comment about Moslems is related to the story.

PS: It's good that people poison themselves with cigarettes, booze and other poisons, as well as bad diets, and have dangerous habits [drunk driving]. It filters the gene pool and cuts down the number of people collecting old age pensions. Drunk drivers sometimes take others with them, but usually, it's they who are removed from the gene pool.
