My dad mentioned atrocities. He saw some (well, souvenir taking, from bodies- ears, things like that). And if he had done any, I would think the full measure of the law should be brought to bear against him. There is no freedom WITH complete security- you can't have both. In a truly free country bad actors will be free to act- that's what freedom means. It's quite a bit like the arguments about God- giving man free will. Man can't know he is free, unless he has the choice to do evil. In a completely "secure" environment you can't do evil, but then you aren't free either. You makes your choices, and you pays the price for them. I choose to pay the price for freedom. You obviously want something a bit different. That's ok if you want to choose that way, it's just not what I want. I don't need to call you hopelessly naive just because I disagree with you. That's something I think you need to think about.
