GM is a sign of the times, a once dominant U.S. Manufacturer who is dying because it can no longer compete and has a major disadvantage to Overseas makers with the huge pension and health care burdens.

Even laid off workers are still getting paid 90 plus percent of their normal salary.

Ford is likely in a worse situation.

The question is at what point does or should the U.S. Govt. step in as it did with Chrysler.
