How much time must pass without an attack in this country before you would feel safer and/or agree that the passage of time objectively proves you are in a more safe environment than you were on 9/11.

That argument works both ways. How much time must pass without an attack before you accept that the threat has been overstated?

I could look it up again, but there is something like a dozen or more instances where intervention was significant.

I'll spend a bit of time looking but not much. (I'm watching a basketball game but my team is way ahead so I can divert for a few minutes.) If a tidy summary doesn't pop up quickly, I'll give up. I really don't recall anything significant. (Bear in mind when I say "significant" that I watched 9/11 from my house, not just my TV. If it's not significant for me, it's not significant. <g>)
